Keep Portland Weird II

Among my arrival to Portland, I knew this weekend was the weekend I went to Screen Door. I have heard so many things about this brunch place that it was a must. I called in our party of 7 and we still had to wait about an hour.. worth the hype?

Fried oyster eggs benedict that I had to try. Traditional english muffin with hollandaise sauce. Came with potatoes that were okay. It didn’t have enough fried oysters to my liking..

Warm bread pudding with apples. Syrup on the side. Quite tasty and not too sweet.

YES! Huge fried chicken and waffles! Buttermilk battered fried chicken + sweet potato waffle. 2 large chicken breasts that were plenty enough for two people to share. Great combination and it really filled me up

I know.. we went all out (there were 7 of us). This is Praline bacon, a mix of sweet and salty. A nice crunchy flavor. Pralines may have overpowered the bacon a little bit.

Overall, I was pretty impressed. A decent portion size for the price you’re paying. I would say it was a great experience, but I don’t think I would come back again if the wait was terribly long. My advice, go in a small party and walk around and come back. Get your appetite going 🙂
