Random goodness from Vietnam

Since I have a couple random pictures from different restaurants, I will just consolidate them into one post! 🙂 I hope you enjoy.

One of the best green tea latte’s I had in Vietnam. This cafe was actually at a mall in Vung Tau. The service was not that great, even though they were over staffed, ironic huh?

This restaurant we went to had buckets full of different seafood such as fish, crabs, clams, oysters, shrimp, jumbo shrimp, etc. My parents had a feast and picked out everything they wanted to eat. Then they cooked it fresh for us! Knowing my parents, they basically picked everything, aka the whole ocean.. some species are probably endangered now. As you can see, this is some type of crab marinated in probably fish sauce, soy sauce and other spices. I am not the biggest fan, but I know my family enjoyed it.

These are sea snails I believe. We had to use this pokey utensil to get them out of there. We dipped them in salt/pepper mix with lime juice. Pretty tasty, I must say.

On our way home from Vung Tau, we stopped by this restaurant and got banh khot, which is what the city was known for. Banh khot is basically a small yellow deep fried pancake. It’s served with shrimp, squid, and clams. Of course, you also eat this with lots of fish sauce! It was delicious, but I think I got sick from eating too much deep fried food.

One of my brother’s favorite places to go in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), was Cafe Terrace. We got some yummy drinks there to relax in the blistering heat. This was an orange float. Quite refreshing.

This was also from Cafe Terrace. It is grilled pork spring rolls. I must say, the presentation was pretty nice. It was also quite delicious.

This was taken in Nha Trang, which is a city that’s right by the beach. At the night market, there was a stand with a guy pumping out sugar cane. This is the outcome! They put it in a bag and you drink it from a straw up top. There’s also a lemon in there, so it’s a great combination of a drink.
